For many manufacturers, they want to choose safety grating sensors, but they do not know how to choose the appropriate product, model, size, etc. for their equipment.
Today, Xiken Grating will share with you the parameters that need to be considered for a comprehensive selection of safety gratings.
How to select a safety grating sensor?
Step 1: Choose the safety level of the safety light curtain based on the degree of danger your equipment poses to people (in short: for major casualties, choose level 4 or level 2 excluding major casualties).
Step 2: Based on your customer's needs, choose a foreign brand or a domestic brand (or choose a fourth or second tier, where the fourth tier is a domestic light curtain with a significantly higher price than the second tier imported light curtain)
Step 3: Determine the size of the safety distance (vertical distance from the protective wall formed by the safety grating to the hazard source)
Step 4: Select the optical axis spacing. Finger protection, usually with a spacing of 10mm; The general choice for protecting the palm is 20mm; To protect the feet or body, usually choose a 40mm spacing. Of course, the above principles do not apply when the safety distance is large. The principle is that the equipment can stop before the human body reaches the danger source.
Step 5: Based on your protection height, select an appropriate number of optical axes (even numbers greater than 4) and then select signal outputs (with multiple signal outputs such as PNP * 2, NPN * 2, relays, etc.)
Step 6: Choose the shooting distance (for those with a small cross-sectional size of the light curtain, the shooting distance is generally closer, less than 3 meters; for those with a large cross-sectional size of the light curtain, the shooting distance is generally farther, more than 3 meters.
Step 7: Select the synchronization method between the emitter and receiver (optical synchronization: there is no connection between the emitter and receiver, line synchronization: there is a line connection between the emitter and receiver.)
Step 8: Choose the structural type of the safety light curtain, whether to choose a larger or thinner one, and whether a blind spot free safety light curtain is required,
Step 9: Choose the installation method (multiple installation methods, L-shaped side installation, L-shaped up and down installation, steel pipe support method, end cover with installation holes, etc.)
Step 10: Based on the usage environment of your device, consider whether it is necessary to use a safe light curtain to resist electromagnetic interference, arc and laser interference, as well as sunlight interference, as well as waterproof and dustproof measures.
